A Site To See: Best Friends Pizza Club
The DIY space has always fascinated and also completely overwhelmed me. You can literally make ANYTHING if you have two hands that work, a creative mind, some reasonable skill & ability and what I assume is a fuck ton of time on your hands matched with a dedication to actually finish what you start. The latter has really been the tricky for me - I am a half-assed crafter. My latest crafting venture, prompted by a recent trip to Mexico (which I'll be blogging about... eventually) has been pom pom everything which basically resulted in a LOT of yarn fibers all over our carpet and essentially what would be a fuck ton of great cat toys if we had an actual cat.
The reality is that DIY - especially when it comes to one's home - can be insanely intimidating and at the end of the day requires a really really great sense of humor combined with all of the other aformentioned qualities which is why I love my friend Eliza's blog (and not just because of the cool af title).
Best Friend's Pizza Club got a lot of attention on the interwebs because of this completely mind blowing kitchen renovation that she pulled off for under $100 dollars, but I love her site endlessly because she has great taste, isn't afraid of serious power tools, is basically the queen of amazing Craigslist finds and write's posts with titles like "DISTRACT YOURSELF FROM DEBILITATING GRIEF WITH A RIDICULOUS DIY WALL HANGING!" and "CASE STUDY PLANTER DIY, POVERTY STYLE."
That's my style of home improvement. Oh AND she was also on Rachel Ray! Like on the actual TV! I didn't know Rachel Ray even had a TV show anymore tbh I thought she was just focused on making dog food at this point but still that's pretty damn impressive.
Check out Best Friend's Pizza Club, add it to your blog roll and let me know when you buy your own circle saw and declutter your pajama drawer like a goddamn adult.
