Aug 14 (They Are Still) AUGUSTINES

It's hard to believe that it was back in January 2011 when I was singing the praises of then-Brooklyn based band We Are Augustines and already hyping their not yet released stellar debut album "Rise Ye Sunken Ships" to anyone and everyone who would listen.

So color me a little MORE than stoked when an email landed in my inbox yesterday announcing that the band - are not only getting prepped to release their follow up LP in January 2014 but that they are also going on tour supporting Frightened Rabbit. I mean you know how I feel about Frightened Rabbit and I'm pretty sure I actually suggested this tour pair up to both bands over Twitter a long time ago (or at least I dreamed it, because it is THE BEST MATCHMAKING DECISION EVER).

But anyways, the band in question - now known simply as Augustines - have relocated to Seattle and recorded a new self-titled collection that reportedly puts forth a "more optimistic perspective than their famously bittersweet debut which echos the close bond forged on the road between the band members and their increasingly impassioned audience."

"Augustines" is out on January 21st, 2014 and their tour kicks off in Edmonton, AB on September 24th.
