Somehow, totally unplanned, I ended up inside Mercury Lounge last night to see the Arctic Monkey's first US show. It was hot, it was sweaty, but it was pretty damn fun also! But wow these boys are YOUNG. They are like babies! And it def shows and they seemed to be totally aware of all the ridiculous hype surrounding their arrival across the pond and not entirely comfortable in it either. My feelings about the whole show pretty much echoed Brooklyn Vegan's, and I think they will grow on me even more.
They were a fun band to see, and I'm glad I caught them in a smaller venue before tonight's Bowery show. I would say that there a big things to come for these boys, but isn't that just stating the obvious?
Tonight after the show you should stop by Fat Baby becase Aurelio from Calla will be DJing.
Here's one more track:
Arctic Monkeys - A Certain Romance
